Hi,

Can anyone advise the easiest method of adding an "Acknowledge All Alarms" button to my HMI alarms page?

I'm using:

 - TIA Portal V15

 - WinCC Advanced V15

 - TP900 Comfort HMI

The link below describes how I can include a "Group Acknowledgement" button, but I do not have these options under my Toolbar options, I'm guessing this is because I'm using a comfort panel with WinCC Advanced?

Hi,

maybe it's just not visible.
If you do a right click at the column headers bar, you should be able to select "Alarm Group".
After that, it should be visible.
I attached an image with that.

Alarm group is visible, I was referring to the "Toolbar - Buttons" because this is where you enable the "Group acknowledgement" button from, which is what I need to be able to acknowledge all alarms.

the link leads to a description for WinCC Professional which is different.

What nzett started to tell you is that you have to define an alarm group for the alarms which should be acknowledged together.

• Operator acknowledges the alarm

  You acknowledge the alarm of an alarm group, for example, using the <ACK> acknowledgment key or a function key. All alarms of the alarm group are acknowledged.

The problem is that if I set all the alarms within 1 alarm group, yes I can then acknowledge them all using the acknowledge alarm button but then I also lose the functionality to acknowledge a single alarm.

After doing some more research, I think it's not possible to acknowledge all alarm in WinCC advanced, I think it's only possible in WinCC Professional but that isn't an option for me as I'm using a HMI (not a PC based SCADA, which is required for WinCC Pro)

My alarms are all setup within a single DB in the PLC, the DB contains about 16 integers for the alarms.

If I did what you said and created a button which when clicked would set the values of all the integers in the alarms DB to zero, wouldn't that get rid of the alarms completely rather than putting them into an acknowledged state?

Depends how you have the alarm bits configured. If they are assigned to a DB, you can just make a button to the HMI that will activate a bit in the PLC program. This bit will just write zeros to all HMI alarm words. It's not mandatory to do it inside the panel.

I've already setup the "Acknowledge Alarm" which acknowledges only the one selected alarm and this works fine.

If you want to get the acknowledged status, then you should activate all bits in the alarm acknowledge word. Each alarm has an trigger bit and a acknowledge bit configured?
