Z.BolBol Posts: 84 Rating: (8)	Hi, I have a task and I want to check 2 points : - The presence of a product - Its location So we need to check that the right product is at the right position, I know that an RFID system is suitable for the first point but I'm not sure if it's possible that we can get the current position of an RFID tag (or its distance from the RFID reader) ? Thanks in advance

But scanning for the TAGs location inside the RF field of the reader indeed is a problem. So far there are no mechanics implemented to determine the exact position of TAG. :( When using the RFID system RF600 you can determine the RSSI (Receive Signal Strength Indicator) value of a TAG. But it will be very complicated calculating the TAGs position using the RSSI values due to interferences. Even if you'll use multiple antennas.

What do you mean by using a reader for each tag? I've seen various systems achieving what you want. But they either consist of a lot of antennas calculating the RSSI value for each antenna related to a TAG or they use specialized antennas and complicated math algorithms. But I've only been working with Siemens RFID systems so far. These don't support your use case (yet). Also I don't know any interfaces to the readers to get all the antenna information needed to calculate such things, e.g. via PC software.
