Is my first topic on this forum so one again Hi all.

To the point. I have drive G120 with CU240E-2PN. Currently control by profinet works fine. But I have additional control panel with selector Remote/Local (R/L) mode and two momentary push buttons to start and stop drive in case no available PLC.

I know that I can change CDS by selector R/L. But problem is with correct configuration of DI in CDS 1. In CDS 0 drive is control by PLC, In CDS 1 should by control by push button. Is possible?

I found examples to control by push buttons without relays but I’m not sure it is possible in case when Drive is controlled by PLC too by Profinet.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

yes this is possible and a common use case. 

With your DI for local / remote control you can select between CDS 0 and CDS 1.

In CDS 0 you keep everything as it is with the PLC control via PROFINET.

In CDS 1 you parameterize one of your other DIs as enable signal - connect to p840 (OFF1 signal).

Also you will need a certain speed setpoint in case there is no signal from the PLC - so you could either set a fixed setpoint or an analogue input (if available).

ok so I misunderstood your question probably.

So the local/remote switch is not connected to the drive's digital input? 

If the drive should be able to operate autarkicly without a PLC connection you somehow will have to connect some push button to the drive's digital input. And you will need a second switch button to start the drive as it always needs a positive edge at OFF1 signal to be enabled. If this is your problem because the button is just a simple push button you could use the free function blocks in G120 and use a SR flip flop to set a stable signal and reset with another push button.

you can use 2/3 wire control, parameters p3330- p3334.

Choose one of 3-wire method, connect Stop button to p3330 and Start button to p3331.
