For a school project me and a teammate have to make motors work via a G120 CU250S-PN vector drive. When trying to connect one of the drives via TIA portal, the connection is not possible. The device is simply not detected. We've tried following things: Changing the IP adress, disconnecting one of the drives (physically) so that there's only one of them (tried them both out), we've tried connecting them after doing factory reset, reassigning the IP adresses of every device (be it PLC or drive). Unfortunatelly none of the methods work.

As for the configuration, we've followed a pdf course/guide one of our professors has had with siemens.See the screens in attachment of TIA portal V18 we have about the issue.

Another problem (maybe related?) we have are following error messages on the drives themselves: 8526 PN: No cyclic connection & 7991 Drv: MotID activated. (see screens in ZIP attachment)

What could be the issue and how can we resolve it? Is there something we did wrong?

You need to assign the Profinet name to the device, Profinet communication needs the name for the communication to work. 8526 PN: No cyclic connection will be ok, after you assign the device name to the G120.

7991 Drv: MotID activated <- you can either run the and allow the motor ID run to be performed. Or you can disable it.
