Cost of AWS ?

Does anyone has an idea of what the cost per month/year will be when subscribing to a "free" AWS account for the use with Logo 8.3 ?

Based on 1 message of 5 kB per minute from Logo to MQTT server, costs are USD 56/month

every HTTP lookup of the Logo costs also. I could not find an European calculator.

the cost of the required services:  AWS IAM and the "Elastic Beanstalk", cannot asses.

Of course the "1 year free " trick , gets you "addicted" to AWS and after a year you get an heart attack when the 1st Bill comes in. What % does Siemens Collect ?

Do Not expect me to call Amazon/AWS , i will setup my own Mqtt broker, on a PI for €56,- for life.

Just feel sorry for the inqnorent who get hooked on the "free "  AWS.

Hello, you are correct the cloud service for the LOGO is poor.  We took on a job using a LOGO and the client got wind of the cloud access for remote monitoring.  We stupidly agreed to give it a try and it was a complicated process, the Siemens bug for creating devices needed working round and then we had our first year with some free tiers.  We had to buy a E2C instance (I have no idea why AWS and Siemens cannot put a tailer package together for the LOGO rather than us having to figure out the correct savings plan etc.).  This instance did reduce our costs, we were paying about £45/month, it went down to £20/month.

We are only hosting 2x LOGOs onto a webpage hosted by AWS, nothing else fancy.  We probably sent too many messages per day and I would advise anyone who is doing a project like this to bring all the data that you are going to send to the AWS server and put them through separate function blocks and then add a go live button to the webpage, that makes the function blocked enabled to start changing values and then tag all data that is sent as send on change, this way when no one is actually looking minimal messages are being sent.  This will reduce the IoT costs and the Instance costs.

We agreed to host for 12 months, after this the client extended the period indefinitely so we got hit with £50/month costs, which we pass on.  To try to reduce the costs we purchased another E2C instance and this doesn't seem to do a lot in regards price reduction.  If we could go back I would have gone with VPN like an eWon cosy 131 and fitted a KTP700basic and used Sm@rtclient.  This way my monthly bills are 0 and I understand the platform better.  

So to connect a LOGO with analogue and digital values being sent to AWS, with minimal web viewing, your costs will be ~£25/month, if the web side is viewed more then you will pay more.

So, I’m back to further developing of my solution, now that the LOGO plays nicer with remote platforms.

Until now, I used a VPN and direct access.

But I picked up Issues with the custom webpage and also still no proper logging.

I have a late model 8.3 and have just started the AWS setup.

From what I see here, waiting for the latest 8.4 unit will do me better, as it’s not locked to AWS only?

I cannot charge my clients that kind of money for access. The monthly costs mentioned is what we would target for a yearly amount.
