Cannot change PG/PC interface for WinCC download

AutoGen_3114983 Experienced Member Joined: 2/5/2019 Last visit: 9/10/2024 Posts: 65 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I am trying to download to a computer running WinCC remotely through a Tosibox VPN connection. I am unable to change the PG/PC interface in the download window to select the correct network adapter: - The remote machine is in transfer mode. - We are on the same subnet. - Siemens relevant protocols are enabled for the Tosibox network card. - PG/PG interface in the control panel is set to Tosibox. I've had this issue before but cannot remember what the solution was. I seem to remember that there was a possibility to select a different download window, and that this download window had the possibility to select a different interface for the download, but all download options (extended etc..) lead to the same image as you see here. The remote machine is shown under available devices, and I can download to the PLC without issues. Any suggestions? Attachment Skjermbilde.png (439 Downloads)

sancruz Gold Member Joined: 3/11/2019 Last visit: 11/8/2024 Posts: 1653 Rating: (303)	Hi, you have to use the TIA menu bar -> Online -> Extended go online (or extended download). After that you can enter the ip-address of the HMI manually. You do not have to change the ip-address of the PC, otherwise the VPN connection itself won't work anymore. The routing has to be done by the router configuration. Nevertheless, you must be able to ping the ip-address of the destination device. You can check this in beforehand. If this is not possible, it would also not possible to transfer the data. How can you use the STEP 7 Online functions even when NAT (Network Address Translation) is being used or a remote subnetwork is to be reached? regards sancruz

If yes then select the Advanced RT in the project tree not the IPC/PC. You will need only to download the PC Station if you use a Simatic Net Konfiguration (only for RT Advanced you will not need!). Show please also a screenshot of your PC Station in Hardware view. Do you have used a IE General Ethernet Adapter or a special IPC type? (And also disconnect all online connections to PLCs or similar before you do a download) If nothing works you can also use an offline download of the WinCC: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/de/en/view/109740696 Bye Murof

You will need only to download the PC Station if you use a Simatic Net Konfiguration (only for RT Advanced you will not need!). Show please also a screenshot of your PC Station in Hardware view. Do you have used a IE General Ethernet Adapter or a special IPC type? - Not sure what you mean. I am using a Tosibox VPN. PG/PC interface is changed in the control panel settings, but I am unable to select that interface for downloading in TIA portal. (And also disconnect all online connections to PLCs or similar before you do a download) - Done. I will open a support request.
