SteveJ Posts: 328 Rating: (29)	Dear Sir The term "Drive enable" is used to describe the function of terminal 64 of the simodrive NE module. this is reqired for operation and when removed, will force n (set) = 0 for all axes, causing deceleration along a controlled path. Dave Posts: 271 Rating: (29)	Hello Audy, Perhaps I can clarify what "Drive Enable" is for you. By connecting terminal 64 to terminal 9 this will enable the Infeed Module; however, you also need to have terminals 63 and 48 connected to 9 for full operation. "Drive Enable" used to be referred to as "Delayed pulse disable" which means that if 64 is taken away, the drive will eventually be disabled, but the disable will be delayed either by a time (set in drive machine data for servo axes) or by motor speed (for main spindle motors) as described in the Configuration Manuals. If 63 and 48 remain connected and 64 is removed from 9, then the motors will be forced to a zero speed command independent of what the control is sending to the drive and the motors will be forced to a zero velocity setpoint. The function of terminal 64 is an excellent way of accomplishing an emergency stop using the drive's ability to control the motors to a zero speed to help avoid injury to machine operators, etc. Hope this helps...

RAKESH2 Posts: 60 Rating: (2)	Dear Audy, Drive enable is controllers enable I will explain with 6RA70 case ( armature control) Once you give enable then controllers are enables and pulses ( device firing) are enabled only when current controller setpoint goes more than +\- 0.1 % . If positive direction ( current controller setpoint is positive)is enabled fwd. bridge is selected and ifnegative direction ( current controller setpoint is direction)is enabled fwd. bridge is selected. If contollers are enabled ( speed controller setpoint is zero) then if you try to rotate motor speed contoller will come in action , thus enabling current controller and will not allow uou to move the motor.
