Fux Posts: 661 Rating: (123)	No, you can´t. For a 16VDC sensor you would need a 12/24V LOGO! A LOGO! 230RC needs >79V AC/DC for a 1-signal at the inputs. This you can find in the technical data of the manual.

bmwbykrydr Posts: 16 Rating: (2)	I realize that. I'm saying to use the relays between the motion sensor output and the LOGO input. He's got to have 120/230 for the LOGO, then use the motion sensors 16VDC output to a 16VDC coil relay to send a 120/230VAC signal to the inputs. Of course you'd have to supply each component with what ever voltage it needs. The motion sensor has to be closing a contact somewhere when it senses motion, right? Don

LOGO!Barbarian Posts: 173 Rating: (95)	Most applications use a relay on the output side, but your solution will work. 1) if you use the 16 VDC output of the Motion Sensor to close a coil then this will work if the power that the Motion Sensor puts out when it triggers is enough to close the coil. 2) The signal from the Motion Sensor to the coil must also be a fast enough transision that the coil does not 'bounce' or 'chatter' - it must be a good clean rising edge (check the Motion Sensor out put specs and a selected relay specs) 3) The relay must be supplied on one side with the same AC supply voltage as the LOGO! (also on the same phase to be more careful!) 4) The relay does not have to be big, the smaller the better. YOu need just enough of the AC voltage for the LOGO! to detect the signal. This also means that the coil holding this relay closed also does nto need much power, which comes back to the consideration in (1) above. 5) the last thing that you have to take into account is the speed that the motion sensor output could change, because this will have an effect on how well the realy in between reacts or wears out after 100 000 operations or so. 6) Putting a realy between a sensor and a control device also introduces a small delay, but for this application I do not think that it will be a problem.
