Denilson Pegaia Diamond Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 1/20/2026 Posts: 4450 Rating: (1487)	Hi, As from TIA V18 it is possible to configure layer names for all screens in one centralized place: runtime settings, layers. This can bring greater clarity to projects TIPs: The name of the layers is not stored in the screen itself, but in device runtime settings. Once edited, all project screens (new or old) take on the assigned names. If a screen was copied to the project it will also assume the target layers names settings. If a script uses the name of a layer (for example Screen.Layers("aaa").Visible=true;) it will automatically match to the new name, but if the name is passed indirectly (by variables, for example) it could not occur. So, I suggest thinking carefully about what the layers will be named at the master pattern level, and using those names uniformly across all projects that use this pattern. simple sample Attachment Project9_20221213_0834.zip (484 Downloads)

TIP: To improve clarity, the layers can be renamed: In the runtime settings of the device under "Layers". In the Inspector window under "Properties > Miscellaneous > Layers". In the "Layout > Layers" task card using the shortcut menu of the individual layer. The configuration of runtime settings is valid for all screens’ layers that were not edited individually, that means: individual settings have priority over general settings.
