Hi Rauno, When I was you I first make the right earth cabling, this is costing almost nothing and you know after that if it was that. The earth-connection that is on the backplane of the cabinet is 1mm2? That is not much when there is further no earth wiring. Normal is a minimum of 6mm2. If the Profibus DP cables have on the other side where the slaves are have also a bad earth-connection then there may be EMC over the Profibus cable thats going into the CPU and give a error whereby there might be such a problem as mentioned (stumbling a memory address, where after the CPU will go in defect because of a CRC-error). [:(] You may measure between the casing of the profibus dp connector and the earth if there is a difference, please first disconnect the DP-connector so that you can easy measure. The maximum powerdifference is 5V, higher is not good, there may flow NO current when you measure. TIP: First check the voltage, because the fuses of your universal meter can fly around your ears... [:blush:] What you also may check if the connectors on the backplain don't have bended pins... [:o]

I have used 3 different 414-3 CPU's who have the same problem, but only when a was programming. (and a program a lot 315,317,416, F CPU's so it is not my programming device or style ;) ) Do you have the same experience ? For the Siemens Expert is the 414 Hardware and Firmware that different then a 416 CPU that this problem might be coused by something else ?

Rane Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	In my issue the fault has occurred only when programming. Although EMC is not done as instructed, I do not believe that is an answer. The program has been downloaded through industrial ethernet, so I do not believe the potential difference causing this problem. In manuals there are instructions when connecting via CPU programming port. In that case I can understand this EMC issue, not with ethernet. We will replace the CPU with another one, and send the old one to Siemens for inspection. Our companyhas been working with Siemens PLC's for over 20 years (I personally over 10 years), and we have not seen an issue like this before.

The only option that is open that the memory have trouble with the inteference of the programming, so disturb something internally. [:(]

Dear Rane, Have you give this information also to your local Siemens representative? When not, please send this information in a Service-Request to Siemens with all the data which in this conference. If you don't have the opportunity to do that then please inform me, I would then send a Service Request. [:P] When you first are having a Service-Request number, then there could be arranged a "Sonter Untersuchung" so that this problem will be carefully looked too. The problem is how can you reproduce it, by sending the hole day programblocks to the CPU from STEP7, by the way which versions do the S7 software have and over which way are you having contact, CP 443-1......... Is that one up-to-date? Once a customer have the trouble that when he a FM programmed over the ethernet that the CPU goes in STOP, I haven't seen the diagnostic buffers then, but after a firmware update of the CP443-1EX11 and the FM453, the problem was gone. Are you using routing thrue the CPU... The only option that is open that the memory have trouble with the inteference of the programming, so disturb something internally. [:(]

Rane Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Thanks Late, There is at least an old version of firmware in CP443-1 (&GK7 443-1EX11-0XE0), which in now V2.3. Quite an old one! There is no routing used, at least not in the situation when the fault occurred. The chain of events was the following: - small changes to the existing FC blocks was downloaded, no problems - suddenly, when downloading again a small change (FDB programming, in function CMP>I, theconstant value in IN2 was changed to another constant) the fault occurred. CP 443 -1 Firmware Update V2.6 and Unrestricted Use in any Hardware Release (6GK7443-1EX10-0XE0 and 6GK7443-1EX11-0XE0) Service Pack 1 for STEP 7 V5.4 and STEP 7 Professional Edition 2006 If everything is up-to-date you might ask Siemens Finland with a Service Request what to do.
