We use technology objects (position axes) in Simatic to control the drives. What is the easiest way to read out the actual fault of the sinamics? Is there a text list available for the fault texts to import in a HMI,

0_Einstein Diamond Member Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 15385 Rating: (2443)	If you search for SINAMICS Starter software, there are downloads listed which provide fault codes for adding to Starter software. I think (may be wrong), but it might not be difficult to use excel to make them importable into HMI / Project texts / alarms. They might even provide them in a format that can be imported directly. But that is where I would start. The fault & warning codes are transferred via telegram for many telegrams. If your existing telegram does not offer them, maybe there is a similar telegram that adds them. Or, maybe add a supplemental telegram and add fault / warning codes to them so the PLC always has current fault / warning codes. DavidBrown We have S7 1500 PLC with S210 drives on Profinet. Therefore you need a xml-list of the SINAMICS S210. 0_Einstein Diamond Member Joined: 7/7/2010 Last visit: 11/6/2024 Posts: 15385 Rating: (2443)	If you are using StartDrive, adding a supplementary extension to the telegram is possible. If using starter, you can adjust the length of the selected telegram 105, adjust the new parameters available for transmit to send fault / warn codes. Then on the PLC side, find a standard telegram at least as big as the new telegram size. Sometimes "standard" might mean "Free telegram". Or, if you are able, select a different telegram which automatically adds error/warn codes, or has a couple of free 16-bit spots for sending. A tip Siemens Support gave me years ago was to select a standard telegram with most of the data I wanted already in it. By selecting a standard telegram, it automatically makes all the BICO connections. Then manually adjust the send and/or receive length, extending the standard telegram, and, finally, manually mapping the extensions. On the PLC side, by using starter rather than startdrive allows this flexibility. StartDrive is not as easy to manipulate, and also harder to get wrong. DavidBrown Ok, But as I see telegram 105 does not contain the errorcode of the drive. What is best way to read in the error code then if a TO-object position axis is already used? Telegram extension?
