How to connect a linear actuator?

mislav77 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	I need to connect a linear actuator to PLC LOGO! system. I have a LOGO! AM2 RTD, LOGO! AM2AQ and LOGO! 24RCE and a LOGO!POWER 24V/ 4A and a 12V transformer. The actuator is a Glideforce GF23-120504-3-65 High-Speed LD. I think I have to connect it throught the transformer but I am not sure. I would appreciate a wiring scheme, thank you.

ixo65 Grandmaster Joined: 12/18/2014 Last visit: 9/6/2025 Posts: 35929 Rating: (4498)	The actuator has a nominal voltage of 12V DC. So you have to have your own voltage source of 12 VDC. Please note that the actuator requires a relatively high current (7 A). Since the relays of the LOGO! only have make contacts and no changeover contacts, you have to connect coupling relays afterwards.

mislav77 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	ixo65 Hello mislav77, in attachment is a wiring scheme. Thank you very much, but what if I want to make the actuator work through a PLC , it looks like they are not connected (PLC and actuator) just seperate power supply. Would I need to connect it to AM2 AQ?

ixo65 Grandmaster Joined: 12/18/2014 Last visit: 9/6/2025 Posts: 35929 Rating: (4498)	Do you not understand the wiring scheme? The program in LOGO! switches the coupling relays K1 und K2. The changeover contacts from this relays. K1 and not K2 is for backwards driving, K2 and not K1 is for forward driving.
