How can I read out the remaining life of the active tool in one reading cycle?

We have turning and milling machines with 840D sl in the factory where we usually read tool data remotely over the network via OPC. Two data are particularly critical for us here: 1) Active tool 2) Remaining workpiece number of the active tool.

This two data is read out in combination every time a tool is changed. (Theoretically, we could of course also read all tools and their service life, but since there are a lot of tools, this has a negative impact on the communication speed.)

Reading 1) (active tool) is OK for us. To do this, we read the system variables actToolIdent + actDuploNumber.

However, we have a problem when reading 2) (remaining life of the active tool):

The system variable "/Tool/Supervision/data" is available here, where we can read via column 4 = Remaining workpiece number ($TC_MOP4). But here we also have to specify the tool number in the line. That would mean that we would first read out the active tool number using system varible "actTNumber", and then get the remaining life in the second reading cycle via $TC_MOP4.

Is there no way to read out the remaining service life of the active tool in just one reading cycle? If not, we could do the reading in 2 reading cycles as described above, which would mean that the correct combination of ToolIdent and service life might no longer match.

Note: Theoretically, we could define a subroutine on each machine where we read out the service life via $TC_MOP4 [ToolNr,DuploNr] and then assign this to a GUD, and read this GUD remotely. However, we want to avoid making any changes/additional programming to the machine as much as possible.
