Lately, I have been working on PLC migration, particularly from S7-300 to S7-1500. During this process, I encountered a few challenges, though none were insurmountable. Over time, I developed a systematic approach to streamline the migration and minimize unnecessary delays.

To support this approach, I created a migration flowchart based on Siemens documentation (Migration Manual) and my personal experience. While this flowchart isn’t a universal solution for every project and, sometimes, very simplistic, it has proven to be highly effective in my own work and maybe could help you.

The flowchart is organized into three main phases: Preparation, Migration, and Installation.

I know that some steps in the flowchart may not be listed in detail or might be too generic for certain projects. However, for someone like me who values manuals and standards (one of the reasons I enjoy working with Siemens products), this flowchart serves as a great starting point for some of you.
