I have some questions about the firmware upgrade on HMI.

When the machine was handed over it used TiaPortal V13 with HMI firmware V13.0.1.0.
Since then the project was once upgraded to TiaPortal V14, then now again to V19, but the HMI firmware version is still V13.0.1.0.

I saw in the TiaPortal (under change device option) the highest firmware version available for TP1200 Comfort (6AV2 124-0MC01-0AX0) is V17.0.0.0., my question is: should I upgrade the HMI to that version? Is there any possible side effect in the visualization? (f.e.g. some scripts or functions not supported anymore etc.)

Currently installed software for V19:

• TIAPortal V19
• Step 7 Professional V19
• Step 7 Safety V19
• WinCC Basic/Comfort/Advanced V19
• WinCC Professional V19

Hi!

It is highly recommended that you upgrade to V17 in your project to get new features and improvements.

Normally upgrading to higher versions should not be a problem, however you should make a backup of the screen.
