I want to change the background color in a flashing mode:

red-blue-red-blue...

To do this I want to read the current color of the background.

If (background  = red)

{ change color to blue}

If (background = blue)

{ change color to red}

How can I read the current color of the background ?

no need to do that, there are some things missing in unified but flashing is not one of them.

properties>backcolour>dynamization>flashing

I was looking for a script way because I was planning to use a tag aswell.

tag1=true and tag2=false =>  only blue

tag1=false and tag2=true =>  only red

tag1=true and tag2=true =>  red / blue

I need to try but it seems possible with expressions.

If you know a way to use  GetProperty function in a faceplate that would still be usefull

 You are right, for the requirements you have - the expression would be just enough. It's also advised to use tag/expression dynamization rather then scripts as it's less resource consuming + you are limited in the number of scripts.

P.S: I believe this should do the trick
