Is it possible to have one unified HMI block another?

AutoGen_8791355 Joined: 11/14/2024 Last visit: 3/25/2025 Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	I have two Unified HMI. Both are on TIA V19 and both uses firmware V19. Is there a way to make one of these HMI the dominant one? So by a click of a button, the connection to the other HMI is lost, till the button is reset? Because both screens need to do the same thing. But one of them is the main control panel, so it needs to be able to be the one that have the last say in what happens.

I have seen solutions where the PLC controls which panel is active. On all other panels, a top layer is activated to indicate that nothing can be done and that access must be requested. However, this requires some mechanism in the PLC to handle the requests, release access to an unused or disconnected panel, and so on. And it will completely block the other panels, it will not just block a write access. Kind regards Stefan

Unified doesnt seem to have the JobMailbox I am used to use for this.

This is because it is designed as a system that can be accessed by multiple clients who may need to see different screens. However, there is an FAQ that describes the alternatives.
