hazem Bronze Member Joined: 2/15/2010 Last visit: 1/20/2024 Posts: 329 Rating: (6)	Dear, ok 3 phase balance is okay this means your drive tuned well. when you measure current of dc motor is coinciding by your reading of drive or there is difference? both should equal between real reading by external current meter and drive internal reading? If both current are same reading? you can change current limit board ? control card which compare between real current and current limit?. there is no way for fuse and thyristor burnt rather than exceeding current by drive or at one moment may be one phase get off and the current distributed by other two phases. can you keep recording for current per phase and look? i suggest now suddenly one pair of thyristors got off during drive running and this can make problem for other two phases. awaiting your reply? Normally drive is running for months without problem but in a moment, while its runnig a big bang happens. I've experienced this explosions in many times, maybe 15 converters. There are no dc link fuses on the drive but dc snubber is used. I want to know why snubber is used. wonder how to composed a power circuit for a dc motor conrol, I mean what are components of power circuit. burnt fuses are available in the attachment. Hello, From your message it looks like there is nothing wrong with the drive tuning or drive part. (Since you have mentioned as drive runs smoothly for months time.) What I feel is check your input bus supply conditions. Mainly for any deeps or surge or heavy & frequent fluctuations in power supply. Can you attaché the single line power diagram of the feeder. Have you checked the power factor of system. Is there any transformer connected to drive on input side? Also check DC motor with megger for insulation resistance. Please revert back with results. hazem Bronze Member Joined: 2/15/2010 Last visit: 1/20/2024 Posts: 329 Rating: (6)	Dear, I still suggest you have at certain time one firing for pair of thyristors got off and the other two phases withstand the rest of current and this cause huge current path per other two phases and that is why fuse and tyristors got burnt and i still suggest you have either loose contact with firing board or firing board it self defected. Is there any malfunction of contactor like chattering, pitting on main power contacts, loose connection at contactor coil etc.? You have not answered about the power line pollution, conditions like heavy voltage fluctuations, power dips or surges etc. From the SLD it seems that it is common power bus. What about other heavy loads? Have you observed that during this problem, any other heavy machine or equipment is powered ON or OFF? Please study & revert back. DEEP.
