MultiRanger 100 firmware

cncsparky Posts: 32 Rating: (2)	We have numerous Multiranger 100's, most seem to be firmware v1.12 Just opened a new one out of our stock and its firmware v1.18 Searched for the release notes on this but can't find. Anyone know where to get this, or what the changes were? Also, my PDM station software is vK5.5.3.0 Will I need to update this to configure any future v1.18 MultiRangers? Thanks!

danw Gold Expert Joined: 3/28/2010 Last visit: 12/23/2025 Posts: 1201 Rating: (220)	I remember attempting to do a firmware update on a couple Multi 100/200's maybe about 15 years ago. It did not go well. The attempt failed and the box was toast. We ended up sending two Multi's back to the factory so they could do the update. It was so long ago, I can't remember what software I tried to use for the download; I can't even remember whether it was SIemens or Milltronics, before Siemens bought Milltronics. The current list of Multi downloads does not include firmware downloads. I'm guessing that if you can get a firmware file, it will be through Siemens as a support request. They might decline for any number of reasons, like the utility needed to handle the download. If you do, please return and tell us about your experience. We're just users like you.

The latest release was to correct a potential problem with flash saving, the release before that was to use the product without the need for the lithium battery R1.14. R1.12 was the release before then. I would recommend bringing all of your units up to R1.18. You should be able to use the PDM version you have with all of these. Though I am not the expert there...

cncsparky Posts: 32 Rating: (2)	Follow-up I was reading in the MR200 HMI operating instructions, appendix D, indicates that firmware files are available from our Siemens representative. Assuming tech support. Apparently they can send a (.exe) file that will update the multirangers. MultiRanger 200 HMI (siemens.com)
