I am trying to install a GSD file in STEP 7 V5.6 for an ET200SP Profibus interface module. Step 7 reports that the file was successfully installed but the module is still not available for selection. Has anyone ran into this issue and what was the fix?

In Hardware configuration check other profiles. Normally you should be able to find it in standard profile.

Thank You, I did not realize that is the folder they were put into.

However, with the GSD installed the device is still not showing correctly in the configuration. See the attached image.

The part number that was generated when the GSD was installed for the Interface Module is 6ES7 136-6BA01-0CA0 while the part number in the configuration is 6ES7 136-6BA00-0CA0. Could that be the issue?

yes this can be

if you configure ba01 then a ba01 must be placed in the physical slot.

bit from the picture i would say that the configuration of this et in step7 was made with HSP not with GSD

so you must install the correct HSP

I installed the HW update for that module and it took care of the issue.
