Attempted update to 5.2 gone wrong.

After initiating the update with Starter (TIA v15)  
(Right click on "S120_CU320_2_DP" > Target device > Upgrade device version /  characteristics,
and selected v 5.2, then device restart)

I had elongated time with the cu320 blinking green at 0.5Hz
(longer than 30-40 minutes, exact time not known)
Never showed 2Hz blinking.

Restart of cu320 ended up with RDY an DP blinking red - no connection possible from Starter.

Advice or instructions on how to get it running again, please?

Hello,

if your memory card is not corrupted, you can try to upgrade firmware directly on memory card.

Upload firmware from support pages.

Memory card has three partitions, labeled Sinamics, Backup and Boot.

Backup contents of Sinamics partition on PC using card reader. Than delete all files and directories in this partition and copy unpacked firmware into it. If CU will correctly start, copy contents of USER and KEYS (if you have licenses on CU) folders from backup on PC to same folders on memory card. And try to start drive again.

CF card does not have Boot and Backup partitions visible in "This PC > Manage > Disk Management",
just a single FAT partition.

Downloaded SINAMICS_S120_V5_2_SP3_HF14.zip and extracted the contents to the CF.
No difference; RDY and DP still flashes.

I have another CU320-2 DP,
the same single partition there... and same data (FW 4.5) on the CF -label.

Can I create the Boot and Backup partitions?
I assume these are key to getting the CU320 up and running again.

Reading the update instruction I found & followed,

I see:

> 13. From Firmware V4.3.x and higher, the firmware is automatically updated. During this time, the RDY (READY) LED flashes orange on the Control Unit with a frequency of 0.5 Hz.

Now, I have clear remembrance of the RDY flashing being GREEN when the "update" was on... does that make a difference?

(and NO KEYS-folder.)

No difference how long the cu320-2_dp is on, nothing changes.

Tried to delete files on the CF, then extract the contents of one of these:
- SINAMICS_S120_V5_2_HF11.zip
- SINAMICS_S120_SW_V4_7_HF35.zip
- SINAMICS_S120_V5_2_SP3_HF14.zip

... and restart the CU with the CF inserted.
