RT License Transfer Error by AuthorsW

AutoMaster Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Hi, I`m trying to transfer ProTool Runtime license from one PC into another using the AuthorsW software. I have inserted my external flash disk (not floppy) into my PC, and I tried to transfer the license to it.. But I got the following error message: "The authorization SIK/SIMATIC ProTool/Pro RT 8000 Tags on drive C:\ cannote be copied back to the diskette. Check wether you have inserted the correct authorization diskette." Do I need special medium for transfer like yellow floppy or something like that ? Could you please explain the cause of this error ? Thanks in advance.

Hello AutoMaster, Can you tell me what Version of Authors you have ? also when you Inser the Disk, are able to see it in the Authors (Means if you click on the Drive A: it is not showing any error ?) make sure your Diskette is ok .....

AutoMaster Posts: 21 Rating: (0)	Dear Ammy, Thanks for your response.. I'm Using AuthorsW V2.5 + Service Pack 1 There is no problem in accessing my external flash disk.. because the AuthorsW include it in the tree of drives.. and when I click it, no error message has come up.

SolutionFinder Posts: 559 Rating: (87)	Do you have Automation license manager? If yes then Try to transfer the license key with Automation License Manager. You can get it from any Siemens software CD like Wincc, Simatic manager Etc.

See the note concerning Authorizations. (They can not be transferred to USB stick or USB Harddrive) Try to use a Network to transfer authorization. (See online help AuthorsW) Best regards, Wizard
