I mean we can obly choose speed either 9600 or 19200 etc but which values do the following have? 1) Parity? 2) Data bits? 3) Stop bits? 4) Handshake? Thank;s in advance for the troble

In order to setup the radio modems correctly i need not only the speed but also the obove mentioned settings(parity,data bits etc) I believe that since i cannot find anywhere in microwin where to change these settings they must have fixed values as far as the PPI communication is concerned that's why i am wondering which they are

Helmut_13 Posts: 2930 Rating: (432)	Hi autodafos, as I understand your question: You want to exchange PLC-data between two S7-200 PLC's via GSM-Modem. If you have the possibility to connect one of this PLC's to an anolge telephone line then the best is to use an EM241 (Modem-EM) and configure the EM241 to read/write the data. If this is not possible then you will run in problems if PPI is necessary because no moden can handle the PPI-Token. If you have no change to use an EM241 then the only way I know is to do it in freeport because there is no PPI-driver for modems. The protokoll is 9600, 8, E, 1 (11bit, 9600bps, 8 databit, even parity, 1 stop bit) GSM does not support 11 bit. If you do teleservice from MW via GSM to S7-200 then the 10 bit (comming from GSM network) is changed by the RS232 PC-PPI cable to 11 bit. But this can not be used for PLC-2-PLC communication. In this case the only way to solve it is to use freeport via your radio modems. Here you select the protocoll setting as needed and timing is in the most cases also no problem. Regards Helmut
