Can't Shut down Windows XP

ZenZan Posts: 5 Rating: (1)	Hi Everyone, So the trouble started with a Fujitsu Siemens (Ironic?) Laptop with Windows XP that wouldn't shut down. It started the shut down procedure but would just "hang" at "Windows Is Shutting Down". If forced the machine to power down it would start up without any issues. I'd love to give more detail on the hardware etc but I inherited the problem last thing on a Friday afternoon. My quick fix was to unistall MicroWin and hey presto the machine would shut down, except now it won't power down automatically. (I've got the same problem with a Dell D830 but it's never had MicroWin on it). I haven't reinstalled MicroWin yet but I was wondering if anybody had some insight or advice, I'll try get some more details when I can. Thanks in Advance

Could you describe your problem more clearly ? of course if its about Microwin or you can use this page : http://support.fujitsu-siemens.com/com/support/index.html Note : You have already asked a similar question in Protool conference.

ZenZan Posts: 5 Rating: (1)	All sorted now. I uninstalled Micro-Win and this allowed the machine to shut down in the first place, but not power down. I then disabled the FwKbd Device in Device manager (remember to show hidden devices under the View Menu) The machine would then power down correctly, and finally I reinstalled the latest version of Micro-win and (touch wood) it's behaving itself without a problem.
