I will convert IP240 position decoding to FM351.

I need Travel/encoder revolution and Pulses/encoder revolution data for HW setting FM351

Where are those data in IP240 ?

Is there a sample project or manual for conversion IP240 to FM351 ?

the answer is not so easy.
Important is the used function of the IP240.

Do you use this module for Counter/Positioning/ Position Decoder?

Please look at the IP240-manual.

There is a explanation for the different functions including examples.

please look at the S5-programm for the FB169.
At the input DBNR can you find the DB-number.

The description of this function block can you find at the manual (see the link at my last answer) at chapter 7.3, page 7-20 (pdf-page 82 ff.).

There you can see also the content of the DB which the function block use.
The principle of operation for the function block is also described at cahpter 7.2 (7.2.2 resolution)
The resolution is not only one DataWord, the value is splitted over different Bytes. 

At chapter 7.4 you can find also a example of position decoding.

I have checked IP240 manual also, but there is no DW address for the pulses / round, distance / round.

AFL=1 in FB169, The actual value in DB is actual pulses encoder counting amount.

This is not actual distance

If I replace new encoder with different pulses/round, I have to set these value. isn't it

That's because there is setting point those data in FB351, but IP240

Hello h_park,

if I understand it right, your new encoder have a different resolution as the old one.

At the IP240 is not a converting between pulses of encoder versus real distance.
The IP240 send only the counted impulses of the encoder.
You have the parameter AFL = 1 (single resolution) that means the resolution of the encoder is the same like the IP240 count.

Your challenge is that you must calculate new

• references of all used tracks (look at chapter 7.2.3)
• the hysteresis (chapter 7.2.4)
• define the zero offset (chapter 7.2.1)

Important is that the maximum count of the IP240 is 199,998 increments (see chapter 7.2.2)

That is a lot of work with a lot of efforts.
