To my knowledge there is a driver CD supplied with the cable. First you should install it to your PC or PG. Then there is new interface appear in PG PC interface that is PC adapter (PPI). You should select that.

In this thread you have a USB cable? What do you have really now? And I think it is enough to write it in one thread.

Anyway, I think you forgot to set the PG/PC Interface in your System settings. The linked FAQ here should be the right one for your problem.
