s-5 communication

jeetu Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	i have an old siemens s-5 plc onmy cnc machine(6ES5921-1AA21).abd i have no back up of its program .can anybody plz help me how to make it communicate with the computer to retrive data and does it needs a special software?and can anybody plz help me with it's manual and catalog,i have checked siemens site,and i think this product is obsolete now?thanks in advance.

jklm Posts: 1742 Rating: (309)	Hello, Based on the type you specified (6es5921-1AA21), your S5 system seems to be a Simatic S5-130A/Kwith a CPU 921. The type you mention is SIMATIC S5 921 CPU FOR CC 130A,CC 130K If I am correct, you will need a special programing unit like PG631 to connect to the PLC. And an interface AS501.
