How to coonect Load cell to two(2) controllers

Gosai Posts: 61 Rating: (0)	Dear All, Query is : Existing system: Load cell is connected to controller ( 6 wire) We want to keep it as it is. We want to introduce SIWAREX U to connect to this load cell ( it is comatiable). How can we connect this load cell to both the controllers, I have one idea as attached file. Will this work??? For example 2mV/ton or 1mV/kg or.... And if you split this signal, you would be lost from real weight. Hope this will helps. Best regards Hristo Mihalev

Gosai Posts: 61 Rating: (0)	Hello UMENCHO, You are right, but in my case this Analog signal splitter is working like; out1 = input out2 = input We can say it's signal multiplier ( it's phoenix standard product - MINI MCR-SL-UI-2I(-SP)(-NC)). What do u say?

Gosai Posts: 61 Rating: (0)	Actually what my point of asking is!!..... if we connect only "signal+and -"connections to SIWAREX andkeep other terminals open like supply of load cell (be'z it's connected to existing controller). it will make any diff. to SIWAREX? or it will work .

Siwarex module would be "angry" for this type of connection. But you can try this if necessaries hardware exists.. It's not so hardly to prepare this exercize. Best regards Hristo Mihalev

This “Existing Controller” supply the load cell(s) with power. How is the voltage of the “Existing Controller” to supply the load cell(s) with power? Either you can find that supply voltage (= Excitation) into the data sheet of the “Existing Controller” or you can measure the voltage at the pins “EXC+” and “EXC-”. Is thesupply voltage (= Excitation)AC or DC? Best regards Siwarexi

Gosai Posts: 61 Rating: (0)	Exc + / - is the load cell power supply. loadcell need a 4..24 V DC range. SIWAREX supplying 6 VDC. GWT controller supplying +6V(Exc+) and -6V (Exc-).

Normally If you have oneload cell and two controllers, then One of them should use the measured value to control some thing in your application and the other is for monitoring. Am I right? If yes, Simply you can use converter. convert the weighing signal into 4-20 mA. and then connevt it to AI channel of the both system. You can connect the load cell directly to Siwarex. and then take 4-20mA which represent the weight from AO channel. Regards,

Pin no. 14 of SIWAREX need to be connect! This pin is very important in your case. This pin is the ground of the analog-digital converter of the Siwarex U module. Into a “normal” application, you don’t need to use that pin. Best regards Siwarexi

Gosai Posts: 61 Rating: (0)	Dear Sir, I have make the connections and tested the way u suggested. It works with a problem. Problem is: 1. SIWAREX not showing a steady ( fix) weight. It continuously varying. 2. variation BAND is maximum +20 KG to the value shown by another / existing controller. 3.Client wants fix weight / very less variations. Kindly guide.

Did you do an adjustment with the Siwarex U module? Do you have mechanical vibrations? Maybe you can use the parameter “Limit frequency”: If you are decreasing that parameter, you make the scale more “slowly”. I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards Siwarexi
