Siemens LOGO Expansion Module AM (4-20mA) Doesn't read sensor input

If I disconnect M2 from the -Vdc supply and place my meters positive lead on I2 and then the meters -lead on the -vdc rail I get 4-20mA . I don't get it. why isn't the AM2 module reading the 4-20mA signal? Am I missing something in the software? does the AM2 module need to be configured. Will one analog amp show the signal in the message texts? does the gain or setting on the amplifier need to be changed? If so to what? If the green run light is on doesn't that mean the module should be working because it is on.

The analog amplifier must be set to the sensor type 4-20 mA. The values for Min and Max should be set in the same way as the physical measuring range of the sensor. Take a look at the attachment. There is the start menu of the LOGO! explained. On screen 3/9 you can see the values after the A / D converter of AIs 1-5. 4 mA = 200 and 20 mA = 1000. I've gone into the LOGO base module and it shows the following: EM Status: Number of EM's= 2 Number of I's = 8 Number of Q's=4 Number of AI's= 4 Number of AQ's =2 So the modules should be working. How can I view the AI input values on the Base Module (raw data)? Why does it show 4-AI's when only one AI expansion module is connected? Can somebody send give me an example program of how to read a two wire 4-20mA liquid level sensor? I need to figure out why this thing isn't working. It should be displaying some sort of value shouldn't it? The value doesn't change if i disconnect the sensor. What am I doing wrong?

I found this information:

I went into the Base Module and I was able to display the AI's input values. For some reason it shows that AI3 and AI4 are active and sure enough if I slide the float the value for AI4 changes

Hi,

on LOGO! press Cursor UP till date & time is displayed. Then press cursor RIGHT till AI 1 ...4 are shown in the display. Here you can see the raw value of Ai1 till 4.

Select one of the AI channels and remember the value for this channel.

Now chage the sensor from this AI (1 .....4) and wire to the AM2 module. Press Cursor RIGHT again to display the values of AI 5 ...8 and check wether the value of the sensor is the same.

This is how to check AI's in LOGO!.
