• TC.exe
• TraceConceptX.exe

The process TC.exe continuously starts and terminates within seconds always consuming about 50% of the CPU load leaving behind a very unhealthy image of the CPU trend. My guess is that the process traceconceptX.exe is taking care of starting and stopping the TC.exe.

My questions would be:

• What are these processes needed for?
• Why is TC.exe so heavy on the CPU?
• And what can we do about the CPU consumption?

TC is TeleControl.
It should not consume so much CPU-load.
For analyzing the reason for this, you should create a manual
userdump from the process TC.exe, when it has so much CPU-load.

Seeing as the WinCC processes are 32-bit processes you create a memory dump in the 32-bit format.

Futhermore use the SIMATIC Assessment Suite - Data Collector (SAS-DC) - formerly known as SIMATIC
Diagnostics Tool (SDT) - to collect diagnostics and system information from the Computer.

Then create a Service Request, and send the data to the Technical Support of Siemens.

Hello Georg,

I'm not sure that TC is TeleControl.lt. If you look at the screenshot it states "TraceConcept" as description which is something different in my opinion.

I'm sure there is more than one "TC.exe" out there so context is important in this case. 

I will try to get the memory dump nevertheless. 

To create a SR which product would you suggest I choose from the list? I already had created an SR with WinCC OA but they referred me to S7Dos and closed the SR. However there is no such topic as S7Dos to choose from when creating the SR.

yes TC is TraceConcept not TeleControl.
S7DOS is a central component for the communication between
PLC and WinCC.
S7DOS and TraceConcept belonging to the Simatic Net PC Software

Same problem to me, I have a Win10 Pro for Workstation server where I need to execute a WinCC Runtime instance.

Sometimes, this TraceConcept.exe process begins to use a lot of CPU, and I need to kill the process manually via the task manager.

Do you know if there is a service I could disable to prevent this process from starting?
