After an enormous effort decoding the PLC, naming most of the 'nodes' (over 500) with meaningful terms and gaining a far better understanding how this beast works I now have M19 working !!

In the end it proved to be a parameter in the Mentor-1 DC drive inhibiting small movements at near to zero speeds - I have no idea how this parameter got changed as it requires two passwords to be entered (which I didn't have at the time - so not me!) but now she works.

All the work on the PLC and learning STEP5 was not in vain as it got me into the right area to solve the problem.

 M19 is not easy to make--it is related to option, NC MD , and PLC program

1st of all do you know your machine has this (M19) function before you think it not working?

If you don't know or you know you don't have it --you need ask Machine Builder support

we have a cnc lathe with sinumerik 820T controller.

My problem is the M19 (spindle orientation) that does not work.

When I do M19 S.....lf, nothing happens.

I think it is a parameter that must be changed, but I do not know which one.

I have already activated several options that were originally disabled by changing parameters, such as: graphic simulation, display of the actual position relative to the part....

But for the M19 (spindle orientation), I do not know which parameter I must change to activate it.

Please help me.
