I don't see any problem with actual version you have (my opinion), it is powerfull CP with S7 connections available. In case you have problems with functionalty of BSEND/BRCV, the only one is Support request. It is really not possible to help directly here, also do tests because no one have probably your actual HW cfg and also your prj, also want spend time to read it. Simply in my shoes I'll take a look at connections, send/receive signals, errors, status of both sides. I don't have any more suitable recommendation for you here and now.

If I could offer this: Connection between S7 CPUs via BSEND/BRCV

Really I think only about that your cfg of HW has changed, compared to previous working cfg. Hope in case you have set Permit access with PUT/GET on both CPUs for sure because this is bilateral connection as I said. Only my recommendation to check this.
