• In WinCC Explorer, you can change the View setting (Extra Large Icons, Large Icons, Icons, List or Details). I prefer to always have the Details-view but this choice is not saved or remembered the next time opening WinCC Explorer.
  There's probably a place to save/configure this but I didn't find any documentation of this.
  (perhaps CCConfigStudio.ini or registry?)

This is annoying me since I use 8.0.0.5.

It is not in CCConfigStudio.ini, if someone finds it it would be really nice to get some informations.

Siemens Support answer:

This is a known issue which is already fixed in V8.1.

Siemens Support doesn't get better than this

It seems to go through all the pdl's (Enumerate... step)  but it only creates a text file of the selected pdl when it is done.
Is Enumerate step what you're talking about?

What a waste of time to enumerate all pictures even when selected only a few.

Seems like this is normal behaviour in V8.0?

I did a quick test in V8.1 and it is saved. I changed to detailed view and after closing and opening WinCC explorer again the detailed View is still saved.

Thanks for testing and replying but it doesn't change the fact that a bug in V8.0 is not supposed to be fixed only in a new version (V8.1) with new licenses etc.

Another Siemens reply is now:

"we assume a system behavior because we did'nt find any documentation on this, we will submit a feature request to the product directly"

 A new update for V8.0 is scheduled for this month. It's possible that this behavior has changed, so Siemens will test with this version and if it is the case that it still occurs, they can make a "user request".
