Connecting to FTC with Siwatool

When I try to connect to the Siwarex FTC, 7MH4 900-3AA01, with Siwatool V4.0.11.0 I get the message: "The connected module cannot be accessed by this application" Does this mean a module has been detected but it is incompatible, or does it mean no module has been detected? I am using a USB to serial cable (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380233085715). The FTC is on a rail with an IM153-4 PN Profinet interface, 6ES7 153-4AA01-0XB0 (V4.0), connected to a CPU 1515-2 PN with Profinet. I can read live data at the SIWAREX_FTC_B_DB in the TIA Portal V19 PLC program. What could be the problem? Thanks Rick

The firmware inside the FTC module is too old for Siwatool V4. Try to use Siwatool V2 for a test. Maybe you can go online with Siwatool V2. Ask the Siwarex Support (= hotline.siwarex@siemens.com) for the Siwatool V2 software. 2. Maybe your USB to serial converter doesn’t work correctly with the FTC module. I recommend to you to use the USB/RS232-converter of the company Aten, model: UC-232A: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/28391503 Best regards Siwarexi

When opening Siwatool V4 which FTC-B device should I select, 5.3.10 or 5.3.10s. NB I have downloaded the firmware file SWFT3_V5-3-11.bin to the FTC. Best regards Rick
