I have some data in a 315-2dp  that I need to get into an s7-1500 with a CM1542-5, looking at using a get instruction.

I have the Simatic manager project but I want to steer away from doing any downloads, especially HW changes on this device. (1)

I have setup the s7-1500 in TIA portal and have set the CM1542-5 up as a slave as the 315 is the master on its system.

Problem being that I cannot configure the put block with the  PB interface while it is a slave. and I cant really make the    CM1542-5 a second master, at least not without voiding point 1. Though setting it to a master does allow me to configure the get block.

using a dp/dp coupler would also work but I don't want to do a hardware  download on the 315.

What are my options here?  

I've scoured the forums and also seem the readme on CPU to CPU communication, through lack of experience.. maybe, nothing is jumping out at me.

Would it be possible for you to make a software change on the S7-300? You could add a PUT instruction on the S7-300 that writes data to a non-optimized DB on the S7-1500. It is assumed that the PUT/GET communication is allowed on the security settings of the S7-1500.

ok so that can be done by making the config on  one side ONLY.

For example I want to GET data from the S7-300 via S7 connection over Profibus.

1) in devices and networks tab you MUST highlight the connection button (top left)

2) right click the PLC and add a new connection

3) in the popup dialog select s7 connection (top right), highlight the CM card and cliick add

4) bring the get  instruction into your program and you can now select that connection in your block
