Hi guys, I have not worked on Siemens for several years so forgive me if I am asking about a frequent subject.

I have a 6SN1130-1AA11-0EA0 drive on a machine with an 840C control. The drive fails with an alarm 7. it can happen at power on or after several mins. of sitting without a command or when commanded to move.

The motor has a brake and it releases when energized. The motor has torque(it fights back when moved by hand). The motor is free from the machine, no mechanical load. When commanded to move the alarm is near instantaneous and no movement is perceived.

This is 611-Analog drive, 80/160 A enhanced interface feed module. If fault is sporadically reset it or if it is permanent, significance of fault code 7 is motor feeder cable interrupted or motor cable short circuit or ground fault etc. If every thing is Ok, then control module is faulty, replace the same. Please refer attached sheet.
