 Not understand what you need. you have real project or just interested in some test. what kind of SIMODRIVE  you have--611U? 611D?

I have a tool changer in a CNC machine that is works by the PLC Omron and Drive Omron which work by pulse / direction Output 24v from PLC, and this Drive was damaged, I need to replace it with the SIMODRIVE 611U 6SN118-1NK01-0AA1 and servo motor 1FK7022-5AK71-1TG3-Z. I'm trying to use Angular incremental encoder interface as input.

 Try to use 611U encoder feed back card--6SN1118-1NHxx-0AAX and servo motor with encoder

easily making 611U in position control --rotary axis

 Hardware is money but time is money as well, my suggestion is save time to make machine working , and if you have more time and the machine is not important to run --then you can make you project by using hardware you already have.

I already have many Drives 611U 6SN118-1NK01-0AA1 and many servo motors 1FK7022-5AK71-1TG3-Z. I hope to use these components if they can be employed in this project
