MPI alarm

The error disappears when i plug my laptop into the second MPI slot of the ncu but as soon as i disconnect the laptop it pops back up. I only have one profibus line that comes from the DP1 slot of the NCU and goes to an input output card where both connectors are ``ON´´ as they are end of line. The alarm that im having is on the DP2 slot where i only have my laptop connected. Even though i dont have anything connected on that slot do i need an adpator there with a resistor? So what i did was connect a connector on the DP2 with the resistor on and the problem has disappeared . I have seen machines that have that slot empty that dosent have the MPI error so for me this is strange but it works now so my client is happy. Cheers guys
