Sorry for the strong title, but I really lost one working day because of this and still no solution.

TIA20 (also tried with TIA20 Upd1)

Comfort Panel KP 900

PLC 1215DC/DC/DC

PLC part is perfect.

When I insert the HMI and I declare one page without nothing, it compiles.

Whenever I declare an IO field, and after that I point to a PLC variable (which is a trivial operation of course, that I did thousands of times), if I try to compile (or rebuild all, same result), I see the infamous error "Contact Siemens Support".

If I delete that IO field, compile is ok, but HMI is useless of course.

If I close TIA portal I get a non critical diagnostic exception (which is attached), but it comes only when I close TIA

What I have tried :

1) Do a repair of TIA portal using its original installation program
2) Delete HMI and reinsert it, eventually using another Comfort Panel
3) Deleting the famous IM folder as Internet says
4) Doing a rebuild all of PLC and HMI
5) Deleting HMI-PLC connection, compiling and recreating it
6) Activating the Time Syncrhronization as Slave
7) Creating a new project and copy/pasting on it only the FCs/FBs/DBs/UDTs and recreating HMI
8) Creating the project with an older version of TIA (i.e. 15.1, which perfectly works, until I remain in 15.1 environment)
9) Praying the lord of automation, but today He was busy.

Everything gave the same identical result : Contact Siemens Customer Support.

Super important note : when I use a Basic Panel, no issues happens, everything is PERFECT.

Solution was found :

after having done all the updates of windows 10, situation was still the same ...

So I unistalled Tia Portal 20. And reinstalled it. All is working.

Lesson that I have learnt :

Before installing any new TIA, be sure that your windows 10 is updated.
