We have a v16 WinCC Unified project that is set up in the following way:

• SIMATIC PC station running WinCC Unified Scada RT
• Integrated S7 1500 PLC

The PLC has tags defined that we have dragged over into the HMI tags table. Some of the tags are in an array. We are attempting to access these tags in the array from a script.

The following works when accessing primitive data types (int, bool, WString, etc.):

for(let i=0; i<5; i++){

const boolTag = Tags(`my_bools[${i}]`);

const boolTagVal = boolTag.Read();

console.log(`my_bools[${i}] = ${boolTagVal}`)

}

// Prints out the following

// my_bools[0]=false

// my_bools[1]=true

// my_bools[2]=false

// my_bools[3]=false

// my_bools[4]=true

When the data type is a user defined PLC data type (this one is an array of structs) however, the following error occurs:

for(let i=0; i<5; i++){

const tag = Tags(`status_objects[${i}]`);

const tagVal = tag.Read();

console.log(`status_objects[${i}] = ${tagVal}`)

}

// Prints out the following

// status_objects[0]=undefined

// status_objects[1]=undefined

// status_objects[2]=undefined

// status_objects[3]=undefined

// status_objects[4]=undefined

When opening the debugger session (http://localhost:9222) and navigating to the script and inserting a breakline on the tag output, the HMITag object has the following error description: "Object not properly initialized.".

Is there something that needs to happen to initialize the custom plc data type in the scripts?
