Govo8488 Regular Member Joined: 2/10/2016 Last visit: 7/23/2025 Posts: 24 Rating: (0)	Good morning I purchased an MD-34A instead of an ITP 1000, but it's obviously not compatible with TIA 18. I'd like to use it simply as a VNC or SmartClient connection to the HMI panel on the electrical panel. The system would work, but I can't get the on-screen keyboard to appear. If I do the same thing from my PC, I use the physical keyboard, but with the tablet, the on-screen keyboard doesn't appear. I have to activate the keyboard myself, and to do this, I've added a shortcut to the Windows bottom bar, but that doesn't allow me to use the panel in full screen. Another solution would be to invoke it from one of the rear buttons, but I haven't been able to configure them to invoke the keyboard. Do you know of any fixes or have any news? Thanks

Which OS is installed? Check if you can start the panel in tablet mode, I think then the OSK should come up automatically Check also in the settings of the SmartClient application if you have activated the OSK: Bye Murof

There is only a difference : usually I have the tablet keyboard version but if I call the osk application it starts another Blu one type. The os is windows 10 iot enterprise ltsc version 21H2 build 19044.3086 If I change the keyboard option in smartclient nothing change.

It seems that it works only if you activate the Onwscreen keyboard in the Advanced RT Project: Then it works also if you connect with a SmartClient automatically. If you deactivate the OSK in the project then the RT PC with the SmartServer will not use it and then also on the client its not used and you would have to start it manually I do also not have found an alternative solution Bey Murof

I have an HMI with the Siemens project, so I obviously need to work with that. However, I'd like to be able to view and use everything from my tablet, which would have worked fine if it were a normal Android tablet. Everything works fine with my phone. Thanks for your reply

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 9/3/2025 Posts: 16320 Rating: (1930)	Hello Govo8488 ah OK your SmartServer runs on a Basic Panel 2nd Generation... which Image Version do you have loaded on the Panel? -> I checked the Smart Server settings on the Panel and it seems you cannto set anything to have an influence on this... i did also a test with a KTP400 Basic 2nd Gen. and connect with a Smart Client from PC and here also the Screen Keyboard on the PC works without problems, so strange why it does not appear in your situation bye Murof
