Issue with Batch Server Startup

AutoGen_6684680 Joined: 11/17/2022 Last visit: 9/5/2025 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Our system consists of 1 Engineering station, 2 Servers, 2 Batch Servers, and 5 Clients. All parts of the system work without any issues except for the Batch Servers. However, we are facing a problem specifically with the Batch Servers. When the Batch Server computers are started one by one, everything works fine, and they successfully take the Master and Standby roles according to the startup order. However, when both computers are started at the same time, Batch Server 1 takes the Master role, but Batch Server 2 cannot switch to Standby mode. On the Batch Status screen, the message"DBmon: Processing"appears, and the system freezes at this point. Shortly after, the computer shows an error and requires a restart. When we checked the Event Logger, we found an error entry with the title BFLaunchCoordinatorHost. I need someone's about help this issue Attachment Batch Status.JPG (17 Downloads)

In virtualized environments, dynamically allocated RAM can cause synchronization failures. Ensure each Batch Server has at least 32 GB dedicated RAM and monitor memory usage during startup. Hardware & Software Consistency Both Batch Servers must have identical hardware and software configurations, including drive structure, installed versions, and available disk space. Any mismatch can cause synchronization issues. Disk Space & Database Size Verify disk space, especially where the Batch database is stored. If archived batches are not deleted from runtime, the database can become excessively large, leading to DBMon errors. Regularly delete completed batch orders in Batch Control Center (BCC) after archiving to PH. Redundancy Configuration In Simatic Shell, confirm the redundancy bus is set to “dynamic”. Verify name resolution is correct using LMHosts and Hosts files on both Batch Servers. Misconfigured redundancy settings may block Master/Standby role assignment. Batch Traces & Diagnostics Enable Batch traces on both servers to capture detailed startup and synchronization logs. Check CPU and memory performance while traces are active to ensure stability. Database Integrity Both Batch Servers must start with the same database state. If one server has an empty or corrupted database, synchronization will fail. Compare the size and contents of the Batch database folders on both servers.

mustafasenerr Joined: 12/5/2023 Last visit: 9/12/2025 Posts: 12 Rating: (1)	Hello, Regarding the 6 points you mentioned, I would like to point out that we could not find where to observe the Batch Trace in point 5, while for the other points, I can say that the system is consistent as you indicated. I have also tried to show that the issue still persists with the short summary below and the attached videos. Our system has 2 Batch Servers running on version V9.1 SP2 UC07. Our main problem is that when both Batch Servers are powered on simultaneously, Batch Server-2 cannot perform its redundant task. As shown in the attached video, DBMon gets stuck at "Processing," and the SBS part remains at "Listening_Prepared." After this hang occurs, restarting Batch Server-2 resolves the issue. You can see this in the attached Video 2. To identify the root cause, we downgraded all system versions to V9.1 SP2 and created a new project. However, we observed the same issue in a slightly different way: both servers get stuck with statuses showing as not Running and DBMons stuck in Processing. We then upgraded the project to V9.1 UC04 and tested with a new project again, but the problem persisted. We have tried many approaches, but the situation remains as shown in the videos.
