SteveA Posts: 297 Rating: (41)	Is this actually an MCP 483? with a 6FC number, not a 485 with a 5FC number? It is normal for the MCP lights to flash until the PLC program is running and communicating with the MCP. If this is a new control design, you must set the correct parameters in the FB1 call in OB100. This is covered in Doc on CD in the PLC Basic Program section of the Basic Functions manual. The IO addresses for the buttons and LED's are controlled by the parameters of the FB1 call. The specific bits for each light and button are described in the Lists section (Interface signals of the PLC application interface) of Doc on CD. SteveA

SteveJ Posts: 328 Rating: (29)	Hi Audy Your part number is incorrect, it is in fact "6"FC5203-0AF22-0AA2 and the part you have is a MCP 483C SteveA is quite right about commisioning of the MCP from the 840D toolbox.I suggest you have a good look through DOConCD. danial Posts: 31 Rating: (0)	Hi all, I have also the same problem with the same type of the MCP 483C, 840D . when I call FB1 in OB100 the PLC went into stop mode , is there any thing except the FB1 to use the MCP. - I connected the MCP to the MPI bus with partner of ( NCU "add. 13" , OP010 "add. 1") then assigned address of 6 to the MCP by the dip switch of the MCP. - I called the FB1 in OB100 with parameters as follows : CALL FB 1, DB 7 ( MCPNum := 1, MCP1In := P#I0.0, MCP1Out := P#Q0.0, MCP1StatSend := P#Q8.0, MCP1StatRec := P#Q12.0, MCP1BusAdr := 6, MCP1Timeout := S5T#700MS, MCP1Cycl := S5T#200MS, NC-CyclTimeout := S5T#200MS, NC-RunupTimeout := S5T#50S); - I transfered DB7 , FB1 ,OB100 to the NCU, is there any thing else to do ? -should MCP addded to the network or to the hardware? , Or should I call any function else ? please help me for these problems. danial.
