[HELP] OPCUA Server for S7-300 with IOT2040

With one IOT2040 i think get this configuration: Connection between CP343 and IOT2040: a Profinet connection with IOT1040 Profinet driver OPCUA Server: Some Linux service running in IOT2040 (Node-red?) Please help me, i am a PLC programmer, not a high-level programmer (Linux, Eclipse, ecc.) Thanks

I think Profinet is not needed, you cuold also use S7 or TCP communication (if the CP343 is capable of). As OPC UA Server node-red is most simple way of doing it. There are many entries about creating OPC UA server wirth node-red in the forum. Just search for it :) Best regards!

Bence Kocsis Member Joined: 1/15/2014 Last visit: 10/11/2024 Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hello, I am also trying to establish a configuration where the IOT would function as an OPC UA gateway between S7-300 PLC and OPC UA client (ie. with some kind of node-red node) So it is possible to send data to IOT from S7-300 via S7 communitcation, save it to a file, and then use IOT as OPC UA Server and send the data from the file to a OPC UA client? If this is possible, please share any experience or documentation on how to do this Thank you

To make the data available over OPC UA, it is possible to use the OPC UA Client nodes in node-red to write this data onto an OPC UA Server (example). If you want to use the OPC UA Server Nodes directly in Node-Red, I would recommend switching to an IOT2050 as these nodes do not run stable on the IOT2040 and will crash after a few hours of use. But there are of course other implementations of OPC UA Servers that can be used on the IOT2040, e.g Open62541. BR
