I need to display counter value every 4 seconds and then reset it over and over again.

I am wondering about whether reading value from counter by mathematic instruction (with set option last value when EN=0) and resetting the counter with the same impulse is safe.

I attached simple project where it works but I'm afraid of getting zeros because reset counter will perform faster than reading value.

You also can use attached version, created from your version with some changes. Flag M1 is a one cycle delay for the counter reset, the pulse generator ist changed by an on-delay timer.
