Help! ProSave restoring project with secure mode!

Hello dear experts.

I'm facing a problem with a customer where they have Secure Mode on their MP277 10" TC. The customer wants to connect a printer to the HMI but they can't because the Secure Mode prevents them from entering the control panel.

I have done a lot of research on this form and online but can't seem to find anyone with a problem related to mine.

All the guides online tell you to do an OS update. But, when you update the OS, you also lose the runtime project loaded in the HMI. and my problem is that I only have the ProSave backup and not the engineering files.

I tried restoring the .PSB file with ProSave on a spare HMI and I ended up with Secure Mode enabled again. Transfer settings are also copied (Eth disabled, so I have to use the slow MPI adapter)

what option/s do i have? kindly advise on a solution.

What do you mean "reset the panel"? do you mean factory reset? 

I did an OS update (which is AFAIK is similar to the OS update but also removes the license) and the Secure Mode was removed (and everything else, including the runtime project). But, when I restored my backup with ProSave, I restored the runtime project with every other setting, including the Secure Mode.

Resetting the panel usually means performing a factory reset.

In your case, however, you need the original project to proceed. A full backup of the device includes the device settings, including the secure mode settings. The configured password is required to disable secure mode. If no password is configured, simply click the "Taskbar" button.

well, my problem is that I don't have the project files (engineering files). I have an old engineering project provided by the customer.

If there is no hope on removing the secure mode, i will have to download the old project to the HMI and try to find the differences and add them if required.

I still hope that there is a way to remove the Secure mode. maybe using a bootable USB stick with and removing the secure mode? is there such a possibility?
