Hi, First, you need to check the Released Modules to see which modules are supported. Also check the firmware versions because you may need to update them. Via the Compatibility Tool you can check which Windows operating systems are released. For Windows 10, it's LTSC 2019 64-bit. Via the manual: Software Update V9.1 SP2 you can find all information on how to upgrade the system. |

Hello Oreca, Thank you very much for your help, it really clarified things for me. firstly for checking the supported modules, I found almost all of them supported (see pic). Only for the CP 443-1GX20-0XE0 card which does not exist in the SIMATIC Process Control System PCS 7 Released modules (V9.1 SP2) file only the 1GX30-0XE0 exists, so I don't know if it is supported or not. If it is not supported can I replace it with 443-1EX20-0XE0. Thanks again |

GX series CP cards (Advanced CPs) have some different features, such as Gigabit port, FTP, and PROFINET capability (which is not supported in PCS7, but you could still have against support if your system was installed in S7 way). The Siemens recommended replacement is 6GK7 443-1GX30-0XE0 if you need Gigabit, FTP, etc. You could replace with EX model if you don't need any features of the GX series. I suggest you check to make sure that module isn't doing anything that you need to change your design for like PROFINET or something else. If it does have PROFINET, I'd suggest you consider upgrading your controller to AS410 and using X5/X8 interface for PROFINET and doing it according to supported design. |

You might need to delete, add, remake settings and remake settings to NetPro if applicable instead of right click replace in your HW config, but otherwise yes that replacement should be fine. Obviously that is a download in STOP. |
