I have got this simotion with servo drive (s120 booksize) and syncronous motor 1FT7105 with brake.

Brake is connected to the servodrive as supposed to be, and p1215 set to 1 (motor holding brake acc. to sequence control).

Every time i enable or disable the drive the motor/brake make some noise and gives alarm 7930 [31] or [40], either if i control it from script ot from control panel.

Does anyone have any suggestion?

I have been using siemens servomotors for 14 years, but is only the sixth time i have them with the brake, but every one of this six times i had this problem, always the same, how did i solve it in the past? by keeping the  motor always on, but that s something really stupid  which i do not want to do anymore.

Everything is original and brand new: the motor is still in his pallet which came from Germany, never installed, no load on it, never applied any axial force on it; Cables are brand new, not bent, and lying on the floor; Ground is connected.Cable shield connected to ground or not connected makes no difference.

Modify the release time do not help, i can write 0 or 1000 and always hear a bad noise and get alarm.

please check the 24V supply. Maybe it overloaded.

1. During braking application check DC brake power supply, if it is droping less than 22 Volt, check DC supply power capacity.

2. If above point is OK, please check the value at P1226 = It is threshold value below which motor will treated as zero speed i.e pulses are supressed. In your case if brake is activated during motor pulses On, it may cause overloading. Please note, during motor pulses ON, brake should not get applied. This may cause motor, brake & motor module overload.

3. Check if SBC application is enabled in your case. If yes, check the values of p9602 & p9802.

The motor power cable shiel need pressure connect to motor module shield plate,witch is not recieve with the motor module,but addition ordered.

 I am the creator of the original post.

I DID NOT fix it, siemens tech came there and didnt fix it, he had me talking with 2 of his colleagues, which he says they are the best of the best, and they couldnt help me.

Siemens manual says the drive should manage the brake  by itself, but it doesnt.

Every time i enable the axis the brake releases and 80%of the time gives a fault. We made 3 more of the same machines and they all had the same issue, only solution for me is to have the motor ON at all time, which is a big waste of energy since the motor is 35 amps (even the cable is hot).
