I am working on a Rotary Knife machine where an external encoder tracks material movement, and a servo axis (SINAMICS S120) synchronizes its speed and position to perform precise cutting.

1. Speed Synchronization: The rotary knife axis must match the material feed speed using the external encoder.

2. Position Synchronization: The knife should trigger at specific positions for accurate cutting.

 1. Which motion control method is best for this case ?

 2. Which MC Block to Use?

If I may add - some of these examples are very useful in that they implement a lot of features you need for your application and save you a lot of time.  But other examples might contain mainly code which you don't use.  There was one project where this was the case for me, and if I were to redo it, I would simply start with a blank slate (but of course utilizing the good ideas from the examples).
