Hi

I am using CP 1542-5 (6GK7 542-5FX00-0XE0 FW V2.0) in my machine with CPU 1515-2PN (6ES7 515-2AM01-0AB0 FW V2.6) 

I want to order spare for CP 1542-5 but the above mentioned model is not available instead  the successor is 6GK7 542-5FX10-0XE0  

Should I change anything in hardware configuration or can just plug in the successor ?

the new 6GK7542-5FX10-0XE0 seems to be compatible to its predecessor 6GK7542-5FX00-0XE0 and can be used as replacement.
However, the new product has a higher power consumption from the backplane bus and it is therefore recommended to check the configuration beforehand in TIA Portal:

Restricted delivery release CP 1542-5 V3.0 (6GK7542-5FX10-0XE0).
